So often, the misconception is made that being here, right now, on this present earth, is where we can only have the real freedom, and if we follow the Lord, we will be slaves and just sit and sing nothing but praises and sit as robots after we die. When, in reality, it is the total opposite in looking at freedom and slavery. We are surrounded by slavery on this present earth and absolutely no freedoms with it when we follow it.
This world is surrounded by slavery in sin with none other than the devil. The only chance at true freedom and abundant life is through Christ alone, and the outcome of our first and second death. For if we believe, we have absolutely nothing to fear, for Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. When we believe and are filled with the continuous dwelling of the Holy Spirit, our second death embraces and meets the ultimate freedom, far beyond the human imagination.
See, the devil is filled with lies and if we believe those lies and follow them in our hearts, we fall deceived and get trapped into believing the misconception and lie that the enemy wants so much for us to believe. Sin is not true fun, it is a lie leading to heartache, pain, distractions, and ultimately unbelief. If we don’t remain in truth and follow Jesus as He says (acknowledge, repent, and seek the Lord’s renewal in a clean heart, mind, and spirit), we become slaves of the devil: slaves of sin.
Heaven is a place of joy, having no pain, no suffering, with ultimate healing and abundant life, being without sickness. When God creates the new earth and new heavens, this land will no longer be ran by the evil system, filled with desolation, nor sickness, nor pain, but it will be filled with bounty, abundant beauty, pure light, life everlasting in the presence of the Heavenly Father.
God is a loving and merciful Father. Repentance comes with acknowledging the truth – inside and out, being willing to see and notice even the ugly sides of ourselves, and coming back to Him, for ultimate restoration/renewing and refreshing. The Lord is faithful in all His ways; In all your ways, acknowledge Him. Our motives must be pure, without selfish ambitions. The Lord knows our hearts and He is aware of our ways (deeds/actions); there is nothing that can be hidden from His eyes. If we ask with wrong motives or our hearts are not in alignment with His, He will not answer those prayers, even those that seek repentance. He can tell if our prayers are for mere human gains or of the truest intentions. He stretches out His hand for an incorruptible and contrite heart, will you grab hold? We must not become like that of the foolish bridesmaids and not have our oil lamps filled when the Lord comes. We must remain refreshed by the Holy Spirit and the word of God. Remain faithful, remain steadfast, for the Lord is watching.
Reflect on the Word of God in 2 Peter 2, Psalm 51-54, Genesis 4, Revelation 1-4. May the Lord thy God bless you.
