Lessons from King Solomon

Lessons we can gather from the beginning of King Solomon’s reign. > He was known for wisdom. > He desired to lead faithfully. > He acknowledged God's faithfulness and lovingkindness (1 Kings 3: 10 -7). > He humbly admitted his age and lack of knowledge (1 Kings 3:7) and was in the midst of God’s chosen/God’s people (1 Kings 3:8). > He sought the Lord to give him understanding to correctly judge/discern between good and evil because only God could judge such a great number of people and that they were ultimately HIS people (God’s people.) (1 Kings 3:9) > He knew that unless He had the Lord, He wouldn't be able to lead righteously with understanding. > He encourages others to seek God's wisdom and life from the Lord, not from what the world offers. (Proverbs)

Although King Solomon may of failed on many accounts, we can learn quite a bit from him: what to do and what not to do.
