“(1) As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, (2) in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (3) All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh (a sinful state of human beings) and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of the wrath. (4) But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, (5) made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions - it is by grace you have been saved. (6) And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, (7) in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. (8) For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is a gift of God - (9) not by works, so that one can boast. (10) For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepares in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:1-10 🙏❤️
While I was doing my Bible study, it asked me to read this portion of my bible and reflect on the reality of the power of God.
Oftentimes it’s easy to forget that he is capable of so much. We also tend to forget that we cannot do everything on our own and even something as small as mopping the floors, doing the dishes, or even cooking dinner for your family, God’s power is available to us. Those examples were brought to my attention in my bible study and I honestly thought how silly I was to forget that he can even help us tackle those small tasks we don’t feel are maybe “up his ally of helping out on”.
It’s so easy to forget God’s power but it’s also so easy to refresh it in your memory everyday by opening up our Bibles. Sometimes if I don’t know where to start, I’ll start right where my Bible opens up! It can be that easy for us. God is there, we just have to let him in!
Because of his mercy given through Christ, we are saved. Because of his mercy given through Christ, we have a true purpose. AMEN 🙏❤️
