Taking a look at Acts 13:1-52:
Christ made a way for those who thought there was no way. He brought life to the destitute. For they were once seen as a disgrace among the people, unworthy to even come to the temple (to the Pharisees). God made a way, and always had a way, but the devil tries to distract those plans. Glorify the word of god, study the word of god, so when the enemy comes to distract, you will know better. Do not be deceived.
Nothing can hold down the power of the Most High! And these mere humans thought they could dismantle God's plans?! Not one can do such a thing! God ALWAYS fulfills his promise. He is ALWAYS faithful. We are to be witnesses, preaching the good news, having power over the darkness to be warriors for the Lord as willing vessels baptized in the Holy Spirit. THE HOLY SPIRIT SAID! Not mere humans!
The true works of the Lord are astounding. Never ceasing to amaze the children of God. Unbelievable to those who do not understand. The Lord rebukes the enemy, casts out strongholds, and rebuilds his chosen people as warriors that will be bold when spreading the gospel. Not wavering, ready to call out the devil to his face, and send him on his way into where he belongs.
It is God that uses us. It is God that chooses us. It is God that baptizes us in the Holy Spirit. And it is God who brought Jesus Christ to be a little sacrifice for our sins.
The officials sought exhortation for the people, not knowing that they too, were to receive the same message. Not one can run from the judgment of God; his wrath.
God is all knowing. He sees and knows our truest intentions. He knows if we are serious or not. Paul is speaking to the children of God. Those who have ears to hear...He’s calling out his people to take notice of God's faithfulness, how he keeps his word, and does not give way to the desires of man.
The desires of man are wicked, for we live in a fallen, deceptive world; established from the beginning of time in the book of Genesis. Baptism of repentance***It is God who chooses. For all will know and hear about the Father. And the enemy will be brought to light and taken down. No one, not even the devil, can make crooked the straight ways of the Lord. No one can change who the Lord is.
The Lord has power unlike no other. Through the forgiveness of Jesus Christ, being baptized and reborn, to be filled with the Holy Spirit, baptized in spirit, we too are gifted that power to be used in the gifts distributed to us by God. The Lord notices jealousy, and instills His people with boldness to withstand the daggers of the enemy. The enemy will be stirred to anger, but take heart in knowing you can rejoice in victory through Jesus Christ.
We shall rejoice and glorify the word of God, for we too know the promises declared by the Lord. Through Him, forgiveness of sins is available and proclaimed to the people. Only through Jesus Christ, shall one be set free and be baptized in the Holy Spirit. It is God who raises up and declares who is a man after God's own heart and God's will.
It is God who determines who will be called according to His Word. He rebuked the devil, declaring the works of evil, and casting them down. Declaring the Word of God and declaring that not one could manipulate God's word, His ways, or His great works. Anyone who tries to do so, will have the Lord's vengeance upon them. Declaring the Word of God and his power, reaching the gentiles and Jews, all who had ears to hear. They were sent out on the direction of the Holy Spirit. They acted in obedience for they knew and trusted in what the Holy Spirit directed. And the disciples were continually filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
The mission of the “church” is to pray continuously, taking time to fast unto the Lord, waiting for clear direction from the Holy Spirit on who God plans to use next. Not who ‘man’ thinks. We are to hear the LORD'S calling, being continuously filled with joy AND with the HOLY SPIRIT! The Holy Spirit is alive and working! Are you listening?
In what way do you prefer to praise God? Studying God’s Word, singing praise to Him, dancing through praise, remembering who HE is and will ALWAYS be? Digging deeper about God Himself: Even God Himself will not break His law.
