Being Complete

Updated: Jan 5, 2022

We have to stop putting the responsibility of being made complete (or whole), or gaining happiness, in someone or something.

Our spouses cannot do it, our friends cannot do it, our occupation cannot do it, our houses, animals, etc, cannot bring true fulfillment, joy, and completeness.

When we place expectations on things other than Christ, we are bound to be disappointed. Sure, there may be a temporary illusion of happiness, but true joy does not last within lustful situations, or getting temporary bandaids for situations that are ongoing. There is only one permanent solution to a problem this world just wants to place a bandaid over.

Our faith and happiness cannot be made complete by others and the ideas brought forth from this world. When we place the idea of others and things being everything, its not an idol, that in which we are inevitably worshipping.

But church, if we do not realign ourselves to be in agreement with God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, placing Him first and foremost; if we do not make Christ the forefront of our minds, then we will end up adrift (like being lost on a rip tide current).

We must remember that Christ is the head of the church and when we place something before Him, we are bound for distruction and we end up losing sight of ourselves as the church, the body of Christ.
